I’m Deirdre & I do a lot of things by myself. I’m from New York but I didn’t stay there long. At 19, I graduated college and hopped on a one way ticket to Honolulu. I’ve lived in Hawaii, California, and Nevada before realizing I should just pack a bag and travel which is exactly what I did. I flew from New York and headed east towards Europe where I landed in Ireland for a bit. Then, I flew even more East and backpacked all over Asia, all by myself. I’ve had 14 apartments in the last 5 years and stayed in countless hostels and couches along the way. I kept flying east until I landed back in New York where I stayed for a short while before moving to New Hampshire and attempting small town life.

It didn’t take. I continued traveling in Central America, before heading on a 2 month solo Euro trip. I flew back to the states only to head back to Europe and hike a Camino. 181 miles of solo hiking from Portugal to Spain. Now I’m taking some time to catch up on my writing and hopefully continue traveling in the autumn.

Since I finished school, I’ve been floating around the place trying to discover my own sense of self. I have thousands of notes on my phone and four full journals full of ideas of how I want to live my life and what I want to fill my years with. When I moved to LA last year, I met so many creative and inspiring people out here that encouraged me to share my writing, travels, & thoughts instead of keeping it all in journals.
